Dave Bagot

Dave Bagot is the owner and head pharmacist at Petersburg Pharmacy. He has owned and operated the business since 2005, at which time he bought the store from Mike Header. Petersburg Pharmacy was formerly known as Header's Apothecary, which opened in 2000 as part of Memorial Hospital's Menard Medical Center.

Prior to coming to Petersburg, Dave graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 1991. He got his first job as a pharmacist with Hook's Drug Store in Shelbyville, Illinois. He worked there for a couple of years before deciding to pursue a career in nuclear pharmacy. He worked in Syncore in Springfield, Illinois from 1993 to 2001.

In the spring of 2001, Dave decided to return to retail pharmacy, but found his heart was in working with independently owned drug stores as opposed to larger chains. He found a job with Vono Phamacy and worked for John Vono in downtown Springfield for two years before John sold his retail stores to CVS. John offered Dave a chance to continue working for him in his nursing services oriented pharmacy. Dave accepted the offer and continued working for John for a few years.

During this time, Dave realized he missed interacting with the general public and was tired of working in a pharmacy closed to the public. When Mike Header approached Dave asking if he would be interested in purchasing his pharmacy, it did not take him long to think over the proposition and accept.

Dave finalized the purchase on January 4th, 2005 and has been honored to serve the Menard country area ever since.
